Accommodations
at the Rio Indio Lodge:
Architect
Lilliana Cordero Quesada has designed the 36 room Rio Indio
Lodge. Using non-intrusive designs and technology, the Rio
Indio Lodge will be a state-of-the-art facility, sensitive
to environmental concerns in design, planning, construction
and operation. Two guests will stay in each chalet, each
offering private bathroom and shower facility. The rooms are
cooled by ceiling fans. The lodge offers a swimming pool to
cool off after a productive day on the water. The Lodge site
sits on a hillside facing the artificial channel dug by
Cornelius Vanderbill from New York in 1880 in the first
attempt to make an inter-oceanic waterway, which in later
years was finally built in Panama. All the rooms have a view
of the water and exotic gardens. The rear of the cabins face
the rain forest and jungles. All the rooms sit up high on
stilts and accessed by elevated thatched roof walkways. The
fishing cabins are built partially over a natural
lake......with abundant fishing underneath. In front are
exotic gardens and within the main lagoon in the main lodge
there is a second story and coffee and observation verandah
where you can see the islands of the lagoon from ....and you
can see the sunrise over the ocean.

Indio Lodge:

Trip
Cancellation and Travel Insurance Recommendation:
A fishing
expedition will certainly offer you an exciting and
rewarding experience. Unfortunately, however, one
undertaking such an angling adventure must face the
possibility that you or your fishing companion might be
forced to cancel your trip at the last moment due to
illness, injury or other emergency or sustain an unfortunate
injury and require medical services or worse, medical
evacuation during your trip. Trip cancellation and travel
insurance can help protect you and your travel companions
from these unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances. We will
send you the application forms from Travelex, a major,
reliable insurer of traveling anglers. Typically, the cost
of an extensive program is less than $65 per $1,000 of
coverage. It is wise to always consult with your personal
health insurance provider before undertaking any type of
travel to determine what is covered in the event of injury
or illness during your travels.
